Founded in 2012, Truganina South Basketball Club was established by a group of local parents who shared a vision of creating a positive, inclusive basketball environment close to home. Their focus was simple: to provide children with the opportunity to enjoy the game while being part of a supportive community-based club. With Truganina South Primary School opening its doors just one year earlier in 2011, a strong and natural partnership quickly developed.

This partnership has been fundamental to the club’s identity and growth. Truganina South Primary School’s strong commitment to community engagement, combined with access to its gym facilities, provided the ideal foundation for the club to establish itself and grow sustainably. The school continues to be invaluable to the club, hosting weekly training sessions and serving as a key connection point for new players entering the club.

Over time, Truganina South Basketball Club has continued to evolve while remaining true to its community-focused roots. Today, the club competes across both the Wyndham Basketball Association and Altona Bay Basketball Association domestic competitions, offering clear development pathways for players from Under 8s through to senior levels.

As of the 2025/2026 summer season, the club proudly supports over 140 registered players across 21 teams. This continued growth reflects the strength of the club’s culture, its commitment to participation and development, and its established presence within the local basketball community.

What we Stand for

We believe basketball should be fun, accessible, and something players look forward to every week.
From first timers to experienced players, our focus is on development, teamwork, and a positive club culture — not just results.

We value the people behind the scenes as much as those on the court. Families, volunteers, and supporters play a vital role in shaping who we are, and their involvement helps create a stronger, more connected club.

At Truganina South, we’re building more than teams.
We’re building a place players want to stay, grow, and be part of — season after season.
